  • The higher the over-sizing of a stent the higher the inflammation and the higher the restenosis
  • If the size of a covered stent in the aorta (implanted for floating thrombus in the aorta) is not big enough, then there is room between the stent-graft and the aortic wall, allowing flow to the lumbar arteries and the inferior mesenteric artery (thus keeping them patent)
  • In order to deploy a Viabahn on a ChEVAR, the stent-graft must remain in its sheath during the aortic graft deployment so as to reduce the danger of fabric tearing due to the main body hooks
