After opening the abdomen through a midline incision, set the omni-tract and put the first two side abdominal wall blades. Then, lift the transverse colon and put the other two blades on the two corners of the transverse colon, the left and right colic angle.
After you have mobilized the duodenum, and have rotated the small bowel on the patient’s right, put a large blade to protect the bowel. Finally, if you want to lift the left renal vein, you can use the renal vein retractor to pull the vein on a cephalad direction.
